Graphical User Interface • Important Characteristics • Uses Visual Basic 6 component model. • Basis for serial communications is the Active X component called MSComm. • MSComm allows program to open/close and setup a serial port (i.e. Com1). • Data packet from PIC is parsed and temperature and pressure can currently be displayed. • Next Steps • Add graphical representation of data through National Instrument’s Active X components. • Add GPS and other sensor data to display.
