  3. Increased access to nutritious foods over weekend • Overall parents felt that this program gave their children access to nutritious foods over the weekend

  4. How the program is helping • Parents felt that their children were more excited for school and had better health with this program

  5. Is the food provided shared with other family members? • Almost 90% of parents indicated that this food is shared with the family

  6. Other foods wanted • Mostly satisfied • More fruits and vegetables • Less baby food

  7. Other comments from Survey • Thank you, very helpful! • “I am thankful to you. My daughter gets very excited about the food” • Share what we don’t use with neighbors

Assessing Impact • Parent perspective • This program helps give their children nutritious meals over the weekend • The food provided makes their children more excited for school and feel healthier • This program not only helps enrolled children, but also other family members • Program Standpoint • Backpacks with more fruits and vegetables are preferred • Helping not just children receiving backpacks, but others as well through sharing

  10. Q4 Food Drives • Clim-a-Tech • 4-5 bins of food collected by their employees • Holiday Party • 4-5 bins of food collected by sustainers and members • $350 donated as well • Enough food to pack for two weeks – 300 backpacks for students and 1,200 meals!

  11. Year-to-Date • 15 Weeks of Food Service • 7 Packing Parties, 5 Stock the Shelves • 2,250 Backpacks Delivered • 9,000 Meals!
