  3. Homework • Homework is checked daily • 4 points for completed homework • 3,2,1 point for partial completion • 0 points for no homework • You must show ALL steps to get full credit. • Homework should be completed in your notebook.

  4. Notebooks • We will create a new notebook for each unit of study. • It will include power points used for lesson instruction, notes and homework and the PSSA of the day and the essential question for each concept. • Notebooks will be collected on test day and graded. They are worth 25 points.

  5. Student Expectations • You will be expected to be actively involved in class activities, discussion, assignments and assessments which are designed to increase your own understanding of mathematics. • Problem solving, critical thinking, personal reflection and clear communication (spoken and written) are essential elements of participation. • Cooperative group work is an important element of this class and will occur daily. Students will work together toward the goal of each member understanding the mathematics involved in solving the problems.

  6. Assessments • Quizzes are given periodically throughout the chapter. Most quizzes will be announced but occasionally there will be a pop quiz to assess progress. Their value will vary, usually between 10 and 25 points. • Tests are given at the end of each chapter and will be valued at 60 to 100 points. Study guides will be made for each test and will be worth 5 bonus points if completed and signed by a parent or guardian. • Notebooks are collected and graded on the test day. They will be worth 25 points. • Homework is checked daily. • There will be at least two cooperative activity labs worth 50 to 100 points.
