Raw material • Spar Consist of- CaF2 : 97.5% SiO2 : 1.0% P2O5 : 1.0% Sulphur : .03% Moisture: 0.1% • Sulphuric Acid • Oleum
Liw(Loss in weight) • LIW is a devices which feed the spar in controlled manner. • Loss in weight ( LIW) system is a package of 3 load cell based weight bin and a variable speed screw conveyor (SC - 151 ) or gravimetric screw . • Maximum limit of LIW = 203kg • Features: 1. Totally automatic 2. No hazard 3. Capacites controlled
Spar dryer • Spar dryer is consist of two coaxial cylinder having Different radii & Lifter , Flattrs. • Lifter , Flattrs are use to crash and to increase the contactness Of moisture & heat.
Total no. of lifters = 48 Area of the one lifter = 130* 250* 75 mm Temp. given to dryer = 148 C Moisture content before dry the spar= 11- 14% Moisture content afterdry the spar = .05 – 1 %
Rotary Kiln • Kiln is a rotary machine which is used to manufacture the HF. • kiln is made up of carbon steel. • Reation inside the kiln • CaF2 + H2SO4 -- 2HF + CaSO4 (Zypsum) • It is mounted on the four rollers. • Time taken to get te product from rear end to front end is 2.5 hr. • Zypsum handling is done with the help of conveyers, gear box, silo, control valves.
Insulation on the kiln • Length wise kiln is distributed in four zone, on which a cover sheet is used. • Material of the insulation is Glass wool(white). • Thickness of the insulation on the kiln is upto 100mm and it also depends on the material of the insulation. • Nut and thin rods are welded on the kiln sheet to hold the insulation. • This insulation prevent the 90-95% of hot air heat.
Length : 22.5 meter Internal dia : 2 meter Weight : 72 ton Thickness of the shell : 45 mm from along rear end upto 17.5 meter & after that it Is 50 mm.
hag • HAG stands for Hot air generation. • It is a large vessel which generates hot air if temperature 650 degree celcius. • the fuel used is LSHS(low sulphure high speed) and diesel. • special bricks are used in the hag which can bear 1200 degree celius.
Centrifugal Pumps • A DEVICE WHICH CONVERTS ENERGY IN TO HEAD & FLOW. • TYPES OF THE PUMP: 1. Centrifugal Pumps. 2. Positive Displacement Pumps. 3. Multi Impeller Pumps
Pumps consist of various part: • IMPELLER • CASING • LOCATING FLANGE • BRACKET • BACK PLATE • BEARING HOUSING • COUPLINNG OF MUFF TYPE • CARTAGE • OIL CUP
Lump braker • Prevent the lump formation , scraps the material • Facilate the flow of gypsum. • Flights are used for braking of lump. • Construction : 56 flights are welded on the shaft of dia 300mm. • Meterial of flight is Alloy -20 ( 45% fe , 24 % Ni , 20% Cr)
Distillation column • Distillation- A process in which a liquid or vapour mixture of two or more substances is separated into its component fractions of desired purity, by the application and removal of heat • Types of Distillation : 1. Batch column 2. continuous column
Control Valve • Control valves are the instrument used to feed the any substance or material as per requirement • Types of control valves: • Plug valves • globe vakves • Gate valves • Diagphram valves • butterfly valves • solenoid valves
alignment • Any two split thing work together efficiently is the perfection of the alignment. Alignment of KILN
Cause of misalignment • Operating temperature can affect alignment • Machines aligned cold can go out when warm • Bases or foundations can settle • Grouting can shrink or deteriorate • Forces transmitted to the machine by pipe or support structure. • Soft foot. • Poor workmanship. • Increases energy demands
