  2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? • The Radio 1 news bulletin starts of with an ident. It then states the main news story, "Big freeze causes more problems", before the next ident. The 'big freeze' story is then developed; "The freezing temperature is rising, and at this point road officers are saying to preserve your grit as supplies are running out". There is then an interview with Susan Hall, a Woman who is angry at the fact of having no grit to keep her drive safe. The bulletin then mentions BA flights being cancelled due to bad weather. The next big story is about 2 brothers dying after falling in to an icey lake in leictishire. Their is then an interview with Sam Cook a man who rescued a 3rd man from the river. After that there is an ident and "in other news" 3 police officers are being accused of neglecting a mother and daughter after they were found dead in their car after being hounded to death. Also the Togo national team have pulled out of the african cup of nations after a gun attack on their bus in which their driver was killed while trying to drive them to safety. There is then a mention that all 3pm premier league games are called off except for Arsenal v Everton, Sports reporter David Greado is at the emirates stadium to talk about the game later today. There is then a final ident and the bulletin ends with the Anchor saying "more news at 2.30". There is a bed throughout the whole of the bulletin apart from the interveiws and when David GReado speaks, the bulletin is fast and the bed is uptempo and also very fast. • For our radio news bulletin we looked into many radio news bulletins to take inspiration and ideas from, radio news bulletins such as radio1, signal1, even magic FM!! • In our bulletin we did use conventions of traditional radio news but we also made our bulletin abit more unique and original. • Like the radio1 news bulletin above we had an ident to start with as we liked how it sounded on radio 1, and then stated the headline of the story and then we developed it further. We also had an interview in our buletin (with the owner of the Black Lion), and we had a sports section in which we also talked about footbal. • However we added a gossip section to ours in which we talk about Dannie Minougue, Megan Fox and Katy Perry. Our bed isn't as fast and uptempo as the radio1's because the my voice (the main anchor) isnt as uptempo and fast as the anchor on radio 1.

  3. How does the product represent particulor social groups? • In our bulletin we had to consider our target audience 15-28 year olds who like to keep up to date with popular culture so we added the gossip section in whch we talk about film star megan fox because after doing the questionaire we found that film stars are what people want to hear about the most. • We also added some stories which have something to do with our target audience e.g the sleepy teens story and Boozy Britain! In the boozy britain story we do conform to the stereotype of the brittish youth but we aded these to warn our target audience about drinking excessivly. • However we did use stories from outside of England like Hatie which subverts from the stereotype that the youth dont care about current affaires.

  4. Who would distribute our product? • Bauer media would probably be the most likely to distribute our radio product!! • Bauer media already owns radio stations such as kiss 100 which has on average 3 million listeners. • Kiss 100 targets people between the ages of 15-34, this is the same target as our radio news bulletin so we know that Bauer would be the perfect place for us!

  5. Target audience? • Our target audience is both boys and girls in the age of 15-30 • Like to keep up to date with current affaires • Like to hear about sport, gossip, celebrity couples and break-ups

  6. How did we attract our audiennce? • We wanted to attract our audience in everything we did from the stories to the beds. • We used a fast up beat, happy bed for the gossip corner, to keep our listeners entertained we also used stories such as long and short which isnt such hard news as haitie • We also used stories like boozy britain to try and relate stories to our audience • We used a questionaire to find out information about our target audience

  7. Technology • In the process of creating this product i have been introduced to a no. of different types of technology such as vox pops, mini disks, editing on a computer and the process of recording in a studio. • I've found out about the recording levels needed for a vox pop to work , the right level of ambient sound needed and the voice levels aswell • I've also been able to have a go at editing on the computer and found it really enjoyable but very difficult at the same time. I've found out how much time is needed to create a news bulletin as you have to upload all the stories on to the computer from the mini disk, then you have to use the graphic equalizer to make all the stories sound like they were recorded at the same time. And then you have to place all the beds, jingles, idents and stories in the correct place at the right volume to make it work • We also had to make sure the jingles and beds worked well together.

  8. My progression ! • I have progressed a lot since i did my preliminary task • In my preliminary task i was new to radio and i wasnt as confident in myself as i am now. • In the preliminary task you can tell in my voice that i sound nervous but in clockit i am a lot more relaxed and i found it easier to speak into the microphone proparly, as before i did struggle to get the sound level right. • I have also learnt how to write better, more appropriate interview questions since the preliminary task and how to respond to the answers freely without having to write them down first. • Altogether i think that i have progressed in every aspect of radio since doing the preliminary task!!!

  9. The final product ! • When we started out with clockit we wanted to give people an up-to date, entertaining radio news bulletin which also had news involving local and interantional events and stories. I think we managed to create this bulletin. • With hard news stories like haitie and boozy britain, local stories like clhorine horror and having the gossip corner we gave people a variety of stories all of which are important to different people. • When we got our audience feedback the whole team was really happy and agreed with the comments we had, the posotive and the negative. We agreed that we could have added more masculine stories to make it more diverse but we reached the target audience that we set out to attract so i think we created as a team a very entertaing,up-to date, serious, proffesional news bulletin and i am very happy with clockit fm!!!
