Summary of 2013 changes • Membership, Program & Volunteer Services =>the Program Team • New defined responsibilities by job title • Refocus energy on multiple layers of volunteer structure, empowerment and partnership • Breaking down barriers to meaningful participation • Retail is headed online, Denver shop is open

Regional Team job responsibilities by title Program Support Specialist Works with Service Unit and troops, helps support program delivery, staff with assigned service units Recruitment Specialist Works regionally with volunteers at schools and in communities. Organizes participation in community fairs, back to school nights Volunteer Management Specialist Responsible for screening (interview!) new volunteers and getting them the information they need to get started in their volunteer role. The MAIN contact regionally for training and trainers Administrative Support Specialist Handles overnight and banking paperwork, membership registration contact, phone calls and other regional admin business Team Lead In addition to their duties described above, oneof the regional team members is also the lead for the region

  5. Layers of staff and volunteer support work in partnership to support Direct Service volunteers and girls.

  6. GSCO Volunteer Structure GSCO recognizes the need for a more robust and empowered volunteer structure that positions staff and volunteers as partners to support Girl Scouts. Each area of the state will work together to come up with their unique solution. Below is an ideal structure volunteer and staff will be using as a starting point and planning guideline.

  7. Admin Support Specialist • Volunteer Registrar will be granted access to SharePoint and sent regular Data Analyzer/InfoScout reports • provide online registration support • help keep up service unit or regional rosters • double checks rosters against eBudde • help with money earning, overnight, extended trip applications, and finance reports • work directly with troop volunteers or parents

  8. Recruitment Specialist • Community Recruitment/Visibility Events Coordinator • help build strategic recruitment and visibility plans • coordinate large regional or area events that help with recruitment and community visibility • work with event coordinators and event volunteers • work with local media to increase awareness about Girl Scouting • Recruiter/School Coordinator • coordinate local Girl Scout recruitment nights, parent meetings, back to school nights, etc. • work with girl recruiters to help showcase what girls do in Girl Scouts, and work with younger girls at events

Volunteer Management Specialist • Volunteer Interviewer will be granted access to SharePoint • help interview new volunteers • Trainer • facilitate volunteer training • work with STAC to provide feedback on training content • Volunteer Appreciation Coordinator • plan regional volunteer appreciation • work with statewide volunteer appreciation committee to nominate volunteers for council and GSUSA recognitions and share ideas

Program Support Specialist Area or Service Unit Manager/Lead/Organizer • main contact for program support staff • recruit and support other volunteers in the assigned area • help set strategic goals and plans for recruitment and retention • GSLE “Role Model” • support (coaching, mentoring) to direct service volunteers • main contact for troop leaders • Highest Award Mentor • support girls earning their highest awards • work with statewide highest awards committee • Treasurer • manage the service unit or area finances • Meeting Planner • coordinate volunteer meetings • Communications Support • facilitate communication to and between volunteers • Event Coordinator • plan events in service unit or area (work with girl focus group for ideas) • Travel Coordinator • plan travel opportunities (work with girl focus group for ideas) • Girl Focus Group Member (and adult coordinator) • brainstorm ideas and advise area event, travel, series, and camp coordinators

  12. Breaking down barriers to meaningful participation • Program Team are looking at our processes and simplifying ex. Bank forms, Application =>check lists • How will we keep you updated? Monthly Trainer e-Newsletter Website Roundtables Regional staff What else? (survey, mixers, monthly check-ins?) • Better training, and bring the cost down
