  3. About Me • Born: February 19, 1965 • Location: Salem, Arkansas • Parents • Dad (retired military and business owner) • Mother (homemaker and business owner) • Siblings (I am the middle child!) • Brothers (3) • Sister (1)

  4. My Family • I live on a farm in Alton, Missouri. • Husband: Steve (married 28 years) • Children: • Steven (23) • Scott (20) • Pets • Dogs (3) • Cats (3)

  5. Class Supplies/Materials • Student • Paper/notebook and FOLDER • Pen/pencil • School • Computer with Microsoft Office 2010 • Printer/Camera/Video Camera, etc. • Textbook for classroom use

  6. Classroom Rules • All rules included in the parent/student handbook will be followed. Take care of all equipment. • Come to class with a POSITIVE attitude!! • Come to class prepared and ready to learn. • Be respectful to others. • Be responsible. • No cell phones and/or MP3 players used during class and KEEP THEM PUT AWAY!!

  7. Food/Drink Policy • No food, drink, or candy will be allowed in the classroom or hallway. (Water bottles with a lid may be brought to class--please do NOTplace them on the table!!)

  8. Daily Procedures • Log On • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete • User name: Mail\CC8 • Password: (Leave Blank) • Click right arrow or press enter Or… • Log On to access your drive for saving work • Check the board for instructions!! • Log Off • At the end of the hour--NOT5 minutes early!!

Miscellaneous • Please do NOTmake changes to your computer or any computer settings including the background display • Hall Pass (Fill out the form--include time you leave and time you return to class) • Textbook can be checked out for use at home if needed and if available. (Sign Textbook Checkout Form)

  10. Tardies • Students are considered tardy if they are not in their classroom when the tardy bell rings. • Teachers will close their doors when the bell rings for class to begin. • To gain access back to class students must have • a pass to class from another teacher, or • a tardy pass issued from the upstairs office. • Students who are late to their first hour class must obtain an admit slip from the office.

  11. Attendance • Defined as…More than 15 minutes missed from any 45-minute class. • 95% attendance • No more than 10 days per year • Excused/Unexcused absences • No student with an unexcused absence will be allowed to make-up work for credit.

Attendance • Incentives • If you miss 0 days in a quarter, you will earn an automatic 2% increase in your quarter grade. • If you miss 1 or 2 days in the quarter, you will earn an automatic 1% increase in your quarter grade. • Semester Test Exemption Policy (Form) • 0 days and 88% • 1 or 2 days and 93%

  13. Class Assignments • Class assignments not completed during class become homework and are due the following day. • If you miss class, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and make up those assignments. • You will have 2 days to make-up work for an excused absence or school activity. • Assignments requiring a computer may be completed before school or after school.

  14. Cheating Policy • Students involved in cheating-both the student willfully sharing the information and the student obtaining the information will receive a ZERO GRADE for that assignment. • The parent/guardian may be contacted. • An office referral may be made.

  15. Emergency Procedures • Fire – 3 short rings • Tornado – 1 long ring • Earthquake – 2 short rings, 1 long ring • Emergency Alert Plan (Lockdown Procedures) Emergency Procedures and evacuation map are posted by the door!
