  2. Why do we go to space? • We go to space to make miraculous discoveries that can help us on Earth and to learn more about our atmosphere.

  3. What does the space program do for us on Earth? • They provide us with important spin offs like TV on earth, without the space program we couldn’t watch some of our favorite shows! (like the saddle club)

  4. Ways space technology has improved our lives and benefited mankind

  5. Computer Technology • NASA invented the joystick controller for the Apollo Lunar Rover, as well as research on the human factors (how we work), but it got adapted into computer games, video games, and special cars.

  6. Consumer/ Home/ Recreation • The ear thermometer was invented to find new stars. The ear thermometer uses columns of mercury, but the NASA version has a lens similar to a camera. It finds heat. When your body is warm, it gets hotter, and this can feel that.

  7. Transportation • A computer program developed by NASA that predicts how parts will work this is now used on Earth to help us design automobiles. NASA also invented a special type of bike wheels that are great for racing!

  8. Environment • Because of space spin offs we can clean oil. This has improved our lives because water can be used by reducing oil in water. • Thanks to space spin-offs we can successfully purify water. This has improved our lives by making our water drinkable.
