2012 – Annual ConferenceSaturday 12th May 2012Hotel Surya Palace – Vadodara Vadodara Audit Club (VAC) The Institute of Internal Auditors is a well-known institute with dynamic leadership, educating best practices for global profession of internal auditing, risk management and corporate governance. It operates in over 140 countries through network of Chapters and Audit Clubs. VAC is one of such clubs associated through IIA - India’s Bombay Chapter. VAC was awarded formal recognition on 12th of May 2010. It is the only presence of IIA in Gujarat, a focal point of all knowledge sharing events related to Internal Audit. VAC puts all efforts into demystifying the word "Internal Audit", from being perceived as purely a post facto activity that circles in and around accounting to a powerful, highly useful tool used for business health checks. Internal Audit's endeavor is in partnering to evaluate business strategy, monitor it through appropriate controls and formulate frameworks, thereby instilling best practices in Corporate Governance. VAC presented many programs/seminars, regularly throughout the last two years. For instance, Auditing: P2P (Purchase to Pay) Business Process, Changing role of Auditor, Risk Based Internal Audit: An Exercise, Effective Audit Report Writing, Digital Forensics – A Snapshot, Reviewing Fixed Assets and Capitalization, Building Competencies for SMEs, Point of Taxation Rules, etc. The club continued to increase its members base, (over 125 as on date – equally distributed between industries and audit firms). Session 3: Forensic and Fraud Detection – Haresh Joshi Time: 12:30 PM The session focuses on the need for Fraud Detection in today’s scenario with an understanding of Forensic and Fraud Detection, Fraud Symptoms & Fraud Response Plan. It will also capture investigation techniques, do’s and don’ts of investigation and legal recourse in various fraud scenarios.

It suggests something in which two people are paired in an inextricable and active relationship. Occasionally it could even have negative connotations. The phrase recognizes that there are certain activities which cannot be achieved singly -- like discussing, convincing, arguing or fighting. By definition, the expression includes any situation in which two partners are essential. Auditors have a great responsibility evaluate the reliability, credibility, relevance, and timeliness of information in order to improve the quality of information for decision makers.
