    2. Why Synthetic Turf? Performance Synthetic turf surfaces provide for consistent performance for today’s athletes. Synthetic turf surfaces are engineered to enhance an athlete’s performance

    3. Why Synthetic Turf? Player Safety Proven to lower critical player injuries Multiple studies indicate that concussions, lower body injuries and key knee and ankle injuries are reduced with synthetic turf

    4. Why Synthetic Turf? Unlimited Use Natural grass is limited in it’s use Many high school AD’s are under pressure to do more with less from a budget and use standpoint Land locked facilities (Orange) increase user demands Synthetic turf fields meet these demands Can be used in all weather conditions

    5. Why Synthetic Turf? “Home Field Advantage” No fluctuations in field conditions, like grass Synthetic turf offers the home team a consistent, reliable surface, despite conditions

    6. Why Synthetic Turf? Environmentally Responsible No chemicals used to treat field Water conservation Synthetic turf fields are constructed using recycled materials

    7. Why Synthetic Turf? Good for Our Community Increases desirability of our community Can be used by youth athletics Many sports and activities would benefit; football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, softball, band, youth sports, phys-ed classes, concerts, pep-rallies Other area schools already have turf-Dublin’s, Westerville’s, Thomas Worthington, UA, Grandview, Reynoldsburg, Bexley, Bradley, Bloom Carroll, Johnstown, Hartley, Desales

    8. Turf Committee Goals Raise money to turf all three high school football fields Complete the project in time for fall sports of 2012 school year

    9. Synthetic Turf Costs We approximate costs to turf all three fields to be $1.7million(including maintenance equipment for each field) Looking at opportunities to reduce costs-services, share maintenance equipment, etc The Olentangy Turf Committee will raise the funds to complete the initial project Resurfacing fields 7-10 years down the road will be the responsibility of OLSD-thru money saved via-less maintenance, upkeep, water costs of existing fields (save 1/8 total replacement costs per year)

    10. How We Will Raise The Money Field Development Consultants Corporate Gifts-commencing now Private Gifts-if necessary Contract for Turf in March 2012 timeframe

    11. How Can OYAA Help? Propose that OYAA be the Lead Donor We propose a gift between $300-$500K We would ask for a response back by 9/23/11 One gift, or over three years
