  6. 37% of the population live below international poverty standard ($12.5 a day) • Average income is approximately $2,100 to $2,200 a month; however, this is skewed by the wages of the wealthy. • Most earn between $1000 to $2000 a month. Many earn even less—uneducated, illiterate, unskilled earn approximately $35 to $60 a week. • Prices of foods: • Chicken $1.55 a pound • Milk $5-$6 a gallon • Estimated monthly cost of groceries for family of four: $4.96 per day/ $148.80 a month in rural areas; higher in urban areas. This factors in very little meat as well.
