  2. Tapolca • Tapolca is a litte town near Lake Balaton.

  3. Tapolca • It's got 16000 inhabitants and it is one of the most beautiful places of the Balaton Uplands. Many tourists visit the town every year.

  4. A tortuous cave system is hiding under the streets and houses of Tapolca. • The Lake Cave was discovered in 1903 during well-digging and was opened to the public ten years later.This is the entrance of the cave.

  5. The cave is 3,3 km long. In 2010 speculers discovered two new lakes, so this is the biggest cave lake in Hungary now.

  6. The water supply of the Lake Cave arrives from two directions. The warm water comes from several hundred meters under the surface and it's mixed with the cold karst-water coming from the Tapolca-Basin. The mixing of these two water supplies results in an 18-20°C water temperature.

  7. The visitors can make a unique boat trip on the lit, bluish water of the underground lake.
