Topic:Interesting places in Hong Kong • Level:S1 • Objectives: • By the end of the lesson, students will be able to • recognize and name some famous tourist spots in H.K. • describe what people can do in different places in H.K. • finish the worksheets for the activities • write a reply letter to a pen friend in about 100 words (planning a 2-day trip in H.K.) Language and Skills Focus: • using future tense to talk about suggestion/ planning • how to reply a letter

  3. Situation Situation: You are Chris, a local F.1 student. You recently received an e-mail message from Mark, your pen friend who lives in the U.S.A. Mark is planning to visit Hong Kong for two days in October. Now read the following e-mail message.

  4. Dear Chris, Hello, how are you? I’m Mark. I am going to visit Hong Kong for two days in October. I’m so excited. My friends told me that shopping in H.K. is wonderful. Is it true? I love shopping very much. I would like to buy a special present for my mother because her birthday will be in November. I also want to buy some Chinese clothing and Chinese cakes for myself. I love sightseeing and playing, too! Can you suggest some interesting places for me to go when I stay in H.K.? My friends also told me that there are different kinds of restaurants in H.K.? Do you have any recommendations? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Yours, Mark
