  2. The Mix • 3 part “brown” to 1 part “green” • Green = fresh yard waste, manure, veggies and fruits • Brown = brown/dry leaves, dry grass, dry dirt, straw • Double compartments are best! • No meat, dog poop; Maybe newspaper and sawdust

  3. Indoor Compost! • VERMICULTUREEEEEE with red worms • Bin with wet, shredded cardboard/paper bedding • Healthy bins can take 4-6 lbs of green a week • Bury greens! • Harvest!

  4. TIPS • Turn compost for more oxygen • Use thermometer • Not too wet, not too dry • Break up materials! • Vermiculture: eggshells /egg cartons, drip-bin, worms + sun, no oily foods!
