  3. The Institute The Institute of Instrumentation and Control Engineering (IICE) has been formed in 1998 as a fusion of three original divisions. A base for this fusion was the Division of Automatic Control which originated in 1958 from the Division of Technical Measurements. Present organisation units of the Institute: • Division of Automatic Control and Engineering Informatics, (Head: Doc. Ing. Josef Kokeš, CSc.), (23 emp. + 20 Ph.D. students) • Division of Electrical Engineering (Head: Prof. Ing. Ivan Uhlíř, DrSc.), (13 emp. + 10 Ph.D. students) • Division of Precision Mechanics and Optics. (7 emp. + 10 Ph.D. students). (Head: Ing. Jan Hošek, Ph.D.) • Working group of the Centre for Applied Cybernetics, (4 emp.) (Head: Prof. Ing. Pavel Zítek, DrSc.)
