  2. How Patient Informationis Organized in Medisoft • Basic information about patients is entered in the Patient/Guarantor dialog box • Selecting Patients/Guarantors and Cases on the Lists menu displays the Patient List dialog box

  4. Entering a New Patient • Click the New Patient button in the Patient List dialog box

  6. Creating a Chart Number • Must be eight characters in length • No special characters such as hyphens, periods, or spaces • No two chart numbers can be the same

  8. Entering a New Patient • The Type field indicates whether an individual is a patient or guarantor • Guarantor is selected if the person responsible for payment on the patient’s account is not a patient of the practice

  9. Medisoft’s Search Features • Searching for information is accomplished using one of the two search features: • Search For and Field boxes • Locate button

  11. Medisoft’s Search Features • The text to be searched for is entered in the Search For box • The selection in the Field box determines which data field should be searched

  12. Medisoft’s Search Features • The Locate buttons are used to display the Locate dialog box.

  13. Medisoft’s Search Features • The text to be searched for is entered in the Field Value box • The Search Type options specify the guidelines for the search • The Fields box controls the data field that is searched

  14. Editing Patient Information • Search for patient • Use Edit button to display dialog box • Make necessary changes • Save changes
