Your son or daughter has shown interest in attending our Southern California College Tour which will be take place February 15-18 (Monday – Thursday). • Su hijo/a a demostrado interés en asistir al viaje de Universidades del Sur de California. El viaje se llevará acabo del 15 al 18 de Febrero (Lunes – Jueves).

  5. Why this tour? Por qué el Viaje? • Expose students who would not have the opportunity to visit Southern California Colleges on their own. • Exponer a estudiantes a Universidades de Sur de California, que normalmente no podrían visitar por sis mismos.

Why these schools? ¿Por qué estas escuelas? • Results of Student Interest Survey Resultados de la encuesta de interés de alumnos • Leading universities in the country, with opportunities for minorities. Universidades de importancia en Estados Unidos con oportunidades para minoridades • Very popular schools, that students apply to without ever visiting. Escuelas muy populares en las cuales estudiantes aplican sin haber visitado.

What to Bring/Que Traer • (4) Changes of clothes, please remember the importance of layering. • Comfortable shoes • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, hair product, deodorant, etc) • School Identification • Backpack to store information distributed by Universities • Copy of itinerary • Family Phone Contact List • $ for any “extras” • Any medications need to be packaged in a zip-lock bag (for safe keeping)                             • (4) Cambios de ropa • Zapatos cómodos • Cosas de baño (cepillo de dientes, desodorante, etc.) • Identificación Escolar • Mochila para guardar información que será repartida en las universidades • Copia del itinerario • Lista de teléfonos de familia • $ cosas que quieren comprar • Todos las medicamentos deben de llevar en una bolsa plástica

  13. Rules/Reminders • Open-Door Rule: Anytime a visitor enters a hotel room, the rooms door is to remain open, no exceptions. • Students will have to stay in the designated areas of the hotel and university. • Smoking and Drinking will not be PERMITED! • Lights out will be at 10:00 pm. • Students should not open their room doors after lights out, unless there is an emergency or they have been asked to do so by a Cal-SOAP staff member. • Students will not be allowed to leave their rooms after lights out. • All special requests must be approved by a designated staff member before contacting hotel staff, or university official. • It’s the student’s responsibility to eat breakfast before boarding bus. • No one person is to remain alone in the hotel room any time. • School dress code will be enforced!

  14. Reglas/Recordatorios • Regla de Puerta Abierta: todo el tiempo que entre un visitante al cuarto, la puerta del cuarto se deberá mantener abierta. • Los estudiantes deberán permanecer el las áreas designadas del hotel o la universidad • Fumar o bebidas alcohólicas NO SERAN PERMITIDAS! • Todos los estudiantes deberán estar en sus habitaciones a las 10:00pm • Los estudiantes no podrán abrir sus puertas después de las 10pm al menos que haya una emergencia o un miembro de Cal-SOAP se lo haya pedido. • Los estudiantes no podrán salir de sus habitaciones después de las 10pm • Cualquier petición especial deberá ser aprobada por el miembro designado de Cal-SOAP antes de contactar al personal del hotel o universidad. • Es la responsabilidad del estudiante desayunar antes de subir al autobús. • Nadie debe de quedarse solo(a) en el cuarto. • El Codigo de vestuario será enforsado

  15. Consequences • If a student violates any of the above mentioned rules, his/her parent will be asked to drive to the next designated stop and pick up student. • The student will not be able to participate in any future trips with Cal-SOAP. • We will expect all students to represent their High School while on this tour.

  16. Consecuencias • Si el estudiante viola algunas de las reglas establecidas se les pedirá a los padres que recojan a su estudiante en la siguiente parada de la excursión. • El estudiante no podrá participar en ningún viaje futuro de Cal-SOAP. • Esperamos que todos los estudiantes representen a su Preparatoria durante el viaje.
