  2. Who is this player??? • Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. But, more widely known as famous football player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

  3. What team or country does this player play for??? • Ronaldo (Portuguese footballer) plays for Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid. Real Madrid! Or in Spanish… ¡Real Madrid Club de futbol! • WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT REAL MADRID??????

  4. And more facts… • Pro association football club based in Madrid, Spain • FIFA voted it the most successful football club for the 20th century. • 31 La Liga titles • 17 Spanish “Copa del Rey” Cups • Record: 9 UEFA Champions Leagues

  5. 2 UEFA Cups • 3 intercontinental Cups • Is the worlds richest football Club. (€401 MILLION!) • Has 3 different outfits. 1 for home, 1 for away, 1 third colors.

  7. What is the players background, position, how long has he been playing? • Ronaldo was born 5th February in Santo Antonio. (Saint Anthony in Portuguese) His second name (Ronaldo) was chosen after then U.S president Ronaldo Reagan, his father’s favourite actor. He was playing since he was 6 years old. He was only 8 years old when he first played for AMATURE team Andorinha- his father was the kit-man

  8. In 1995, he signed with the local club Nacional. Unfortunately, when he was 15, he was diagnosed with racing heart (tachycardia) that might of forced him to give up his football career. He had a surgery to fix it, and started training only a few days after the surgery!

  9. He was declined by Liverpool at 16 years old because he was too young. But at 1 years old, he was signed by Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson when the M.U players were impressed by Ronaldo’s playing when they were vs. each other. The M.U players urged Ferguson to sign him.

  10. He plays either winger (serve forwards and strikers with crosses, score goals, defend your team when the opponents have the ball) or forward ( to put your opponents under pressure and cut passes in order to make them be forced to mistakes!)

  11. What does this player do on the field to make them so good??? • Ronaldo is a GREAT striker, he can kick a good height with the right amount of force. He is an aggressive player, can kick HARD and STRAIGHT. He is also good at making trick passes and kicks to confuse his opponents. He has great footwork skills as well!   12. Why do I like him play?? • I personally enjoy watching him play because I love to watch him show off his footwork skills! Like on 15/4/09. Against Porto (Oporto) He picked up the ball just inside the Porto half, controlled ball with his first touch (and his second) and his third went 35 yards and landed straight into the top left hand corner of the net!

  13. And on the 21/6/10. Against North Korea. Even when rumor suggest that Kim Jong II came up with a tactical plane to beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Ronaldo had a great game. He broke loose on the Korean penalty area, and the keeper tried to tackle the ball from Ronaldo. The ball went up in the air (away from the keeper) before Ronaldo controlled it with a small of his back into the net!!

  14. What 3 questions would I ask him?? • 1. How long and how often do you practice and train? • WHY: Because I would like to know how much time he puts into developing his footwork and amazing skills

  15. 2. What do you want to improve on in your career to make it better? • WHY: Because it would be interesting to see what Cristiano Ronaldo himself thinks what he needs to improve on, when I think he couldn’t do any better!!

  16. 3. Why did you consider ‘Football’ as a sport to play in the first place? • WHY: Because I would like to know if Cristiano KNEW that he wanted to do football, or he just wanted to try a new sport.
