Bachelor of Science in Commerce Third Year Integrated Core Experience (ICE) • How ICE Works • Students engage in an integrated series of six sessions of business theory and practice throughout a two-semester period, rather than taking separate core courses. • Blocks of 40 students learn by working in small teams, as well as with faculty and corporate leaders, to solve real-world business problems. • Professors team-teach in an interactive, rigorous seminar atmosphere. • Course material is presented in an integrated, cross-functional manner, providing students with a deep knowledge of the complex interrelationships among different subject areas.

  5. Third-Year Integrated Core Experience Fall Semester COMM 3020 Behavioral Issues in Mktg. and Mgmt. (4 credits) COMM 3010 Strategy and Systems (4 credits) COMM 3030 Quantitative & Financial Analysis (4 credits) Needed Commerce Elective, Comm Law, or College Elective (3 credits)

Third Year Integrated Core Experience Spring Semester COMM 3050 Entry Strategies in Emerging Markets (3 credits) COMM 3040 Strategic Value Creation (4.5 credits) COMM 3060 Quantitative Analysis II (1.5 credits) Needed Commerce Concentration, Elective, Comm Law, or College Elective (2 courses - 6 credits)

Bachelor of Science in CommerceTracks: • Business Analytics • Entrepreneurship • Global Commerce • Quantitative Finance • Real Estate A track is a 12 credit area of study crossing over multiple concentrations. Courses taken to satisfy track requirements can also be used to satisfy concentration requirements.

Academic Requirements of Note: • No withdrawals from Commerce Classes • Commerce Courses may not be taken CR/NC • Commerce Courses are not offered as AUDIT • Minimum of 15 graded credits both semesters 3rd year • Minimum of 27 graded credits 4th year • Must complete 57 total graded credits after enrollment

  11. McIntire Online Forms Transfer Credit RequestAllows students to seek permission to take courses at another university and have them apply toward a degree at the University of Virginia. Course Planning GuideGuidelines for choosing a course of study for McIntire students. Concentration and Track Form Required to add or change Commerce concentration. Students do not declare concentrations until Spring of third year.

Fall ICE – 12 Credits Course Enrollment – Fall 2014 • COMM 3010 Strategy and Systems - 1st 4wks   (In SIS, all class times for ICE are listed under 3010) • COMM 3020 Behavioral Issues in Marketing and Management - 2nd 5wks • COMM 3030 Quantitative and Financial Analysis - 3rd 5wks SIS REQUIRES YOU TO ENROLL IN SAME SECTION OF ALL THREE COURSES – each course is 4 credits NO COURSE ACTIONS – LET US KNOW ABOUT ANY DOCUMENTED CONFLICT NOW NO CHANGES AFTER AUGUST 1ST Third Year students are Required to Carry a minimum of 15 graded credits.

  15. Degree Requirements • 120 Credits (60 credits in residency at UVA) • 48 credits must be in Commerce courses • 57 credits must be in Non-Commerce courses, including 6 credits of Humanities • 15 credits may be in either Commerce or Non-Commerce courses
