  3. Overview • Background/Introduction • General Design Considerations • Specific Design Considerations • Progress to Date • Conclusions/Recommendations

  4. Background/Introduction • Traditional methodologies can’t keep up with the changes in technology. • Routine distribution systems can not provide the required updates in a timely manner. • A web-based handbook could solve these problems • This handbook could be updated continuously and would be available anywhere in the world.

  5. General Design Considerations • Comprehensive Occupational Analysis Computerized Handbook (COACH) • Executive Decision Maker • The Implementers • The Operations Manager • The Operations Support Staff • Access to Reference Materials

  6. Specific Design Considerations • COACH would need to be user-friendly. • The web technology allows for self-training on web navigation. • COACH would need to be accessible from anywhere. • The Handbook can be stored on CD-ROM's, which could be used in environments without web access. • FrontPage is integrated into the commonly used Office Suite.

  7. Progress to Date • COACH is still a work in progress. • The OA Program Evaluation is nearing completion • Survey Distribution and Collection are being expanded to include internet surveys. • Questions should be directed to Dr. Jimmy Mitchell of IJOA (mitchell@mail.ijoa.org)

  8. Conclusions/Recommendations • The structure of the handbook can be adapted to any field. • COACH allows the user to be kept up to date with minimal effort. • COACH can provide training to geographically dispersed individuals. • The web technology will allow continuous updates, as the technology dictates.
