  1. Hill ICT Programme Our cluster journey

  2. Hill e-learning Vision Statement • Students and staff to be independent e-learners. Making the appropriate learning choices and selecting the relevant tools to enhance authentic learning. • Concepts that support the vision: • Extending the community globally • Anywhere, anytime, anyone learning (A3 learning) • Learning is important – technology (ICT) is engaging, relevant, daily, motivating & instant • Encouraging students to take more responsibility for their learning • Instant access to and creation of information • Democratization of information • Make connections • Overcoming barriers • Facilitating shared learning • Creating communities

  3. Goal setting within the school • I had a questionnaire drawn up which was completed by all staff. • It is here that they set ICT goals to achieve by the end of the year. • I will review these goals in term 4. • Management , Heather , Matt and I started working on the Hill Cyber safety policy , as necessary changes needed to be made. • We also started working on the e-learning vision and strategic plan. This was eventually completed in June.

  5. Ongoing progress • Movie making using Flip videos • ‘Go to’ teachers in each syndicate • Pupils being taught for mentoring roles within their classes • ICT club each Thursday at lunchtime • ICT buddy classes to help juniors • Now that wikis are up, what do we continue to use them for. • Using ICT skills to assist Senior Production

  6. ICT release days • ICT Release Days • Term 1 • David held a staff meeting to inform the staff on the journey that we were about to undertake. • We started by getting teachers to note where they are at with their ICT. • Teachers then had to fill out a questionnaire on what they would like to achieve by the end of the year. • David spent some days with me on my personal goals and how to set out helping staff to achieve their goals. • I researched our current ICT strategic plans and e-learning vision. • I looked at and made some changes to some ICT policies after discussions with management and other involved parties. • I went to the Learning@School Conference in Rotorua and was also selected to attend the ACCE Conference in Melbourne. • We had more ports and sites opened to the pupils. • ICT Release Days • Term 2 • I have started this term by getting teachers to participate in the school wiki and get them to start up their own class wiki. • I started by getting David to work with all the year 5/6 teachers, for a 2 x 45min sessions each. They then had to start up their own classroom wikis. • I involved the principal and staff by getting him to post a question and then getting teachers to join the discussion on that question. There has been some relative success with this idea. • I have also been helping individual teachers with the setting up of a wiki and finer workings of the wiki. • We have finalised our cyber safety policies and all the teachers have signed a copy. • We now also have a ‘go to’ teacher working in the junior and middle school. This is to keep the rest of the school up-to-date with current ICT. • I completed registration for 2 senior school teachers + myself to attend the Ulearn Conference in October 2010. • I continue to find relative and useful websites and include this on my classroom and school wiki, as well as mail it to teachers, as some teachers are still not using the wiki. • There is a lull in ICT enthusiasm at this time as teachers complete their reports. • I still continue to work on the e-vision and ICT strategic plan with the ICT Action group. • I have started to go into classrooms to work in whole class situations. • I have also started to work with pupils to assist them in becoming mentors. I have taken 3 pupils out of their respective classrooms and worked with them in the e-dungeon. • We have completed the e-vision and ICT strategic plan which will be presented to the Board on the 29th July 2010. • I have completed my job description which was requested by the ICT team leader.
