  2. Use the powers of persusasion you learned during our debates project to convince me your choice of movie for the end of the year is better than anyone else’s.Why should we watch your movie choice?

  3. The student with the most convincing, persuasive essay from among all three periods will decide what movie we watch next week.

  4. Here are the basics for this competition:this is individual, not group workeveryone writes a 5-paragraph persuasive essay

  5. You are going to convince me your choice of movie is best by telling me specifically, with examples, how your movie best relates to what we’ve learned this year and/or how we’ve learned it.

Here are the basics for this competition: • This is individual, not group work • Everyone writes there own 5-paragraph essay • Your first paragraph introduces your choice • Use the next three paragraphs to give three reasons and three specific examples from the movie matched with three examples from our learning this past year. • Your conclusion restates why your choice is best over all others. • You’ll begin with a graphic organizer

Sample graphic organizer (begin with this), note form only Introduction (tell me your choice) Reason #3: Tell me a third example about your movie and how it shows or explains the history we’ve learned this year. Reason #1: What example can you give from your movie proves it relates to something we learned this year? Reason #2: Give me another way your movie is about our learning—what’s your evidence of this from the movie? Conclusion Begin this paragraph with “Therefore…”
