Priorities for the Plan • LAUSD Instructional Priorities • Reduce overcrowding and multi-track, year round schedules in K-12 • Serve students in Special Education • Provide Early Education programs • Serve K-12 at-risk students in alternative programs • Provide career-technical education and specialized program for K-12 students • Provide support services to K-12 and adult students • Comply with Prop 39 Charter School space requirements • LAUSD General Fund cost savings • Community based partnerships

Master Plan Analysis • The Closed School Plan provides information regarding • Campus facilities status • Cost benefit analysis • Project funding viability • Proposed timelines to execute projects • Costs associated with re-opening, re-purposing or converting a closed school to a new use have significant costs due to requirements to meet DTSC, CEQA, and DSA standards • Proposed projects that bring added value and cost savings to the District are favorably recommended

Community: • Meet with Neighborhood Councils and Homeowner Associations • Continue to meet with elected officials and their representatives • 2. Refine LAUSD requirements: • Work with Adult Education, Professional Development and other user groups to scope and schedule required space improvement • 3. Return to the Board: • Return to Board of Education within 90 days with project definitions • Return to Board of Education within 90 days for approval to solicit RFPs
