  2. Hypothesis • Hypothesis A: We predict that there will be a big intensity difference between UVA and UVB on the ground than UVA And UVB in the air. • Hypothesis B: We predict that there will be a small intensity difference between UVA and UVB on the ground than UVA and UVB in the air.

  3. Purpose Design • UV rays intensity changes with altitude • increase in UV rays. • find out the altitude of our balloon. • UVA- overexposure to UVA is associated with toughening of the skin, suppression of the immune system. • UVB- We’re also using a UVB to predict sunburn and skin cancer.

  6. Graphs UVB has a wavelength that is approximately 320-375 nm UVA has a wavelength that is approximately 290-320 nm UVB UVA

  7. Analysis • The data showed that UV intensity does not change with altitude • We found that if the sensors were moving it changed the radiation level • It also depends if the sensor is pointing towards the sun • Our hypothesis was proved incorrect.
