  7. EDALA History • Oct 1999, Feasibility Study • June 2001,Tender completed • April 2002, phase 1 in production • Mar 2004, phase 2 launch

  8. Utilization within Industry • 85% of all new applications are created through EDALA • Major surveyor firms using EDALA (80%) • Councils using EDALA (about 40%) • (Limited direct marketing to Councils) • Used by all Referral Agencies • About 3,500 LD Application/per annum

XML Project Initiative • National Development Assessment Forum: • Development of national Development Assessment XML standard to operate between proponents and all Australian jurisdictions. • Local Government Association of SA: • Supporting XML data exchange standard and process for subdivision proposals. • Promoting use of national standards.

XML Functionality • Web Service Functionality • EDALA forward application, documents, and any changes to Council • Council forwards ‘response’ and any response document to EDALA • Council forward ‘Decision’ and any document to EDALA • Council response to ‘CoA’ • EDALA forwards ‘CoA’ Certificate advise • EDALA forwards ‘LTO Deposit’ data.

  14. XML Process Forwarded on any change to process, eg Application, Decision, Plan deposit, withdraw. Council enter their decision into their systems, and results forwarded to EDALA. Document links provided by EDALA and Council and shared by ftp Web service.

  16. DA Interface Project Objective • Using a ‘web services’ approach, develop a solution that enables the EDALA to interface with Council systems for Sub-Division Development Applications. Funding source • ALGA’s National Interoperability project
