  2. Current ASC has 2 main functions: supporting groups & delivering local services Proposals split these 2 functions

  3. Group Support Unit • Small – neighborhood sized • Informal – no business or Robert’s Rules – focused on group issues • Introduction to service for new members • Opportunity for experienced members to stay involved and share experience

  4. Local Service Unit • Responsible for most service delivery • Geographically bounded and larger than the GSU • Plan-driven • Comprised of a local service board, group/GSU delegates and project coordinators that meet quarterly to oversee services • Holds annual “Planning Assembly”

  5. Small Group:Environmental Scan Brainstorm: • Other GSU issues? • Local service issues? • External factors? • Internal factors? Then prioritize 2 issues!

  6. The Planning Cycle Annual Assembly: scanning Prioritize, set goals Create action plans Monitor services & evaluate, elections Local service meetings may also consist of: training sessions, CAR workshops, interaction with other levels of service
