  3. Social Media Spring 2011 • combine theory and practice to examine the impact social media has had on communication in the Web 2.0 world • Activities: Current Events, follow citizen journalism on twitter along with mainstream news, tweet during class, providing eportfolio feedback

Using Web 2.0 resources to keep track of current events and analyze real world situations allows students to use the technologies they are already familiar with in new ways. • Providing engaging technology like iPads in class results in student centered learning
