  1. INTERNATIONALIZED DOMAIN NAME (IDN)&EMAIL ADDRESS INTERNATIONALIZATION

  2. Internationalized Domain Name Internationalized Domain Name is the domain name or URL which comprises of Non-ASCII characters, that is, local language domain name. It was developed to connect non-English speaking people to the rest of the world digitally. IDN uses a specific encoding format which creates puny code of the Non-ASCII characters used and converts this puny code into Relative ASCII code.

  3. ICANN and UASG UASG stands for Universal Acceptance Steering Group. It was founded in February 2015 and tasked with undertaking activities that will effectively promote the Universal Acceptance of all valid domain names and email addresses. The group is made up of representatives from more than 120 companies (including Afilias, Apple, CNNIC, Eco, i2 Coalition, ICANN, Google, Microsoft, NIXI, THNIC and Yandex), governments and community groups. ICANN stands for Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

  4. Every computer on the internet is uniquely identified so that everyone can connect with each other without facing errors. ICANN coordinates the names and addresses which act as unique identifiers across the world. Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) enable people around the world to use domain names in local languages and scripts. ICANN has instituted the IDN Program to assist in the development and promotion of a multilingual Internet using IDNs.

  5. EMAIL ADDRESS INTERNATIONALIZATION (EAI) In simple terms, the email addresses that use non-ASCII characters are called Internationalized Email Addresses. Internationalized Email Address has two parts- • Local Part- Username; before the ‘@’ character. • Domain Part- after the ‘@’ part.
