IEEE Global History Network Provide the premier global network of the history of electrotechnology Record how the IEEE achieves its core purposes to foster technological innovation and excellence to the benefit humanity Integrate existing IEEE history resources with the capabilities of the web for global collaboration

IEEE Global History Network-GHN Provide unified web presence of global electrotechnology history Integrate current resources with input of additional materials through a Wiki environment Promote collaboration by individuals and organizations Global participation through organizations and history groups Represent broad range of fields of electrotechnology

Development of the GHN • Provide both current and historical electrotechnology content through the IEEE-IBM Wiki including: • Experiences shared by Individuals related to the development of a technology • Experiences of corporations and organizations shared by groups involved in the creation of technologies, products, and services • Descriptions of specific technologies and applications • Histories of IEEE Organizational Units and others who facilitate the development of technologies • Interlinks to museums, libraries, conferences, and published materials

  7. Development of the GHN • Entry of materials in agreement with IEEE Code of Ethics and respect for intellectual property • Content will be initially classified when entered in the Wiki • Provide for the peer review of selected areas of content • Provide for the submission of milestones, video histories, archival materials • Members, sections, regions, societies, and other organizational units

IEEE Global History Network In development with the IEEE History Center, IEEE Information Technology Department, IBM, and contractors Inaugurate at the September IEEE Sections Congress Invite Region 10 participation in the development of the features of the GHN Desirable features and procedures to assure quality of content Provide content for the beta version available in June Contact IEEE History Center or r.gowen@ieee.org Thank you for the opportunity to share the GHN
