  2. Welcome to Mrs. Johnson’s Classroom • Attendance/Seat Chart • Introduction • Abbreviated Autobiography Assignment

  3. Where should I sit? Your seats today will be recorded in the official seat chart. Please sit in the same seats everyday until you are told otherwise. Of course, I reserve the right to move your seat, whenever and wherever I feel will be in the best interest of our learning environment.

  5. And something about you… What do you enjoy doing? What are you passionate about? Where are you from? What is unique about your home/family life? What is your greatest fear? What is your greatest success? Where do you see yourself twenty-three years from this day?

  8. Classroom Guidelines

  9. Guideline #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bell work when the tardy bell rings.

  10. Guideline #2 Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave.

  11. Guideline #3 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

  12. Guideline #4 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in your CGHS student handbooks.

  13. Guideline #5 All electronic devices, including headphones, should be out of sight at all times.

  14. Not Following Guidelines will result in: • 1st • Warning and documentation • 2nd • Action Plan , Parental Contact, and 30 minute after school detention Fridays Only!! 3rd • Disciplinary Referral Action Plan - 161

  15. Classroom Procedures

  16. Entering the room • Please enter quietly • Have a seat • Take out your materials • Review the agenda • Begin bell work assignment

  17. When you are tardy • Enter quietly • Excused: Place excuse in the basket on top of the file cabinet • Unexcused: Sign detention list on top of file cabinet • Have a seat andtake out your materials

  18. After an absence • Go to the make-up work center • Copy the assignment from the calendar • Retrieve any handouts • Sign the clipboard • Turn in the assignment by the appropriate deadline • Make-up tests: Thurs. @ 2:15 in 308/307.

  19. Student Responsibility CardThis is for students who do not have the assigned homework • Fill it out • Sign and date it • Turn it in with the homework papers

  20. Late/Make-up Work Policy • All student work must be completed within five days of the absence, per the school policy. Additionally: • Late daily work will be penalized 20 points. • Late projects and essays will be penalized 10 points per day. • Unit tests and quizzes must be made up within five days.

  22. ABBREVIATED AUTOBIOGRAPHY • This is the age of Facebooking, texting, and Tweeting. To capture the spirit of the moment, write the story of your life (your “abbreviated autobiography”) in 150 words. • As you listen to my abbreviated autobiography list some of the themes involved to help you write your own.
