  1. Long-term Memory (LTM)

  2. Procedural memory • The long-term memory of skills and thought processes for how to do something.

  3. Declarative memory • The memory of specific facts and events which can be brought consciously to mind and explicitly stated or ‘declared’. • The two sub-types of declarative memory are called episodic memory and semantic memory.

  4. Episodic memory • A declarative memory system that stores information about specific events or personal experiences.

  5. Semantic memory • A declarative memory system that information about the world.

  6. Semantic Network Theory • A theory that describes the organisation of information in LTM in terms of overlapping networks (grids) of concepts that are interconnected and interrelated by meaningful links.
