  2. Lee Kuan Yew Mr Lee Kuan Yew was born on 16 September 1923, he was the oldest son in his family, and he was a student at Raffles College when the Japanese first attacked Singapore. He was the first Prime Minister of Singapore, governing for three decades. He is also widely recognized as the founding father of modern Singapore.

  3. Lee Kuan Yew The Japanese made Lee Kuan Yew determined to free Singapore from foreign rule. A year after WWII (World War 2) ended, Lee Kuan Yew left Singapore to study law at a university in Britain. In 1952, Mr Lee Kuan Yew represented a trade union of postmen and succeeded in helping the postmen in getting higher pay.

  4. Lee Kuan Yew He was the co-founder and the first general secretary of the People’s action party, also known as PAP. They formally launched the party at the Victoria Memorial Hall. PAP was made up of people of different races like the Malays, Indians, Eurasions, and the Chinese. He led the party to eight victories from 1959 to 1990, and oversaw the separation of Singapore from Malaysia in 1965.
