Mission: The M.S. in Global and International Education is designed to prepare students with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to work effectively within the complex economic, political, cultural, and social contexts that influence education and learning in diverse parts of the world.

  3. Program Goals: • Prepare graduates for professional and leadership roles; • Provide an innovative, rigorous, scholarly, and enriching educational experience; • Promote the use and integration of technology to support learning and scholarship in international education; • Establish a nationally recognized program that prepares students with the necessary skills; and • Enable students with the abilities to critique the roles and approaches of international, comparative, and educational research.

Unique Program Features: Program Vision - to build knowledge about education as one of the interacting sectors of society while analyzing the role of educational systems within and among different countries of the world. Program Goals – to provide a comprehensive study of comparative education. Delivery Format – completely online!

  5. Plan of Study: 45 credits required for the Master’s degree 6 core courses 4 Primary Concentration in Global and International Education 3 courses Secondary Concentration/Electives 2 Capstone courses (co-op with portfolio)

Co-op Experience: 6 Credits Working in partnership with local communities, host governments, donors, contributors and partners, the internship or co-op experience establishes sustainable non-formal skills training for the cooperating student, host organization, and human service institutions tailored to the needs and desires of each community it serves.

  9. Admission Process • Completed application form; • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (provisional acceptance policies available for applicants with at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA); • International students and graduates must have of 550 or higher on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); • Official transcripts from ALL universities or colleges attended; • Two letters of recommendation (professional or academic); • Personal essay; and • Resume.
