  2. Aim: To align the New Year 9 program with the goals of the strategic plan and to address the concerns of the ‘attitudes to school’ survey data in relation to year 9’s.

  3. How are We going to do this? (We wont go in blind.)

  4. Give the Year 9’’ Group Ownership of their environment. Provide a common physical space for year 9’s

  5. Create a strong community by fostering mentoring relationships with year 12 students.

  6. Develop an engaging integrated, hands on curriculum through...

  7. Individual Learning Programs That cater for individual needs of the students through:- • Development of personal direction. • Creating an understanding of the immediate environment and community that they live in. • Giving students a place in society that is meaningful through a hands on educational process that interacts with the community. • Relevant learning that develops the skills required for further educational pathways • Relevant learning that develops the skills required to develop strong and positive lives.

  8. Morality and Community Theme 1: The Sustainable Environment& our Community This area of learning focuses on the development of the individuals responsibility to the community around them. Through actively contributing to society and developing and understanding of each individuals effect on society.

  9. Morality and Community Theme 2: HealthTeen Health & Mental Health. This area of learning focuses on the physical and mental development of the individual student. Students will be exposed to learning about all aspects of mental health and teen health within their peer group and the wider community. This area is designed to develop a students ability to make educated decisions in society and to be able to live a healthy and productive life. This area will also increase the students awareness of the needs of individuals in the wider community.
