  2. About me • Doing friends hair since middle school. • Facilitator: • Yolanda Sims • Has done my hair for 12 years. • Hair is her passion. • Very good at what she does.

  3. Research • Different hair types • Straight • Curly • Wavy • Coily • Hair type depends on ethnic background.

  4. The product • A wig cut by me. • Enjoy styling hair as a hobby. • Started when grandmother went through chemo and she let me cut her wig.

  5. Obtaining Supplies • Hairstyling tools • Items bought • Hair dyes • Shears: used to cut hair • Wig (biggest expense) • Combs and clips (next biggest expense)

  6. Beginning process Starting with the basics on cutting

  7. 1st Step • Getting wig • Becoming familiar with the hair and hair type • Hair is human hair

  8. Before 15 inches

  9. 2nd Step • Deciding the cut style • What length stylist is going for.

  10. 3rd Step • Starting to slowly trim • Always cut small portions at a time.

  11. 4th Step • Make sure cuts are even

  12. After Front: 9 inches Back:6 inches

  13. Challenges • Time management • Finding a facilitator • Cost • Trusting myself

  14. What went wrong? • Started on a wig that went terribly wrong. • Clients not cooperating.

  15. What I learned • Different hair types • Self confidence • Time management

  16. Further exploration • Get my cosmetology license to have as a back up plan. • More of a hobby.

  17. Conclusion • Senior Project: • Taught time management and dealing with stress. • Taught me more about a topic that I love. • Showed how it would really be working with real clients.
