  2. Birth and family • February 5, 1934 • His father was a ship yard worker. • His family had little money.

  3. Childhood • He was one of eight children. • His brother Tommie would also play for the Atlanta Braves. • He grew up hitting cross-handed.

  4. School and Job • He went to Central High school. • His job was being a pro baseball player. • Barry Bonds broke his record.

  5. Famous • He broke Babe Ruth’s record for home runs. • He is only one of four players to have at least 17 seasons with 150 or more hits.

  6. Still alive and what do you admire about your person • He is 75 years old and still alive. • I admire that he was a baseball player just like me. • He also never gave up.
