  2. BAP mission • The Gamma Psi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi was chartered at UM-St. Louis in 1972. Membership in our chapter will enhance your collegiate experience by providing you with personal and professional development seminars with public and private industry accountants, business leaders, governmental organizations and CPA review course firms. In addition, we provide opportunities for participation in various community oriented service activities as well as several social functions during each academic semester. Reasons to join Bap • Beta Alpha Psi is nationally recognized by a large number of corporations • Beta Alpha Psi is a respected honors organization for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals. • Beta Alpha Psi recognizes academic excellence and complements members’ formal education by providing interaction and networking among students, faculty and professionals in public accounting and industry. • Campus recruiters look for Beta Alpha Psi on your resume. • Beta Alpha Psi provides many opportunities to network with representatives from many different firms.

  4. Students of BAP • Different majors are welcomed to join including Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems • Both Undergraduates of junior or senior status and Graduate students can become members

  5. pledge to become a member • Have completed, or be enrolled in, at least one upper level course in your major beyond the business core • Cumulative major GPA of at least 3.0 in upper division courses • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or cumulative GPA of 3.25 in most recent 30 semester hours • Have at least two semesters until graduation

  6. Membership Requirements • Attend either of the two open houses OR vote in Spring elections • Attend 3 professional meetings and 1 business meeting per semester • Attend the initiation banquet during Fall 2011 • Participate in one service committee and one non-service committee each semester • Attend two social/networking events each semester • Pay dues each semester ($65 for 1st semester of membership, $45 2nd semester, then $10 each subsequent semester)

  7. Open house • Please join us for an open house in the tower in the 13th floor lounge on January 26th or 27th from 4 - 5:30 p.m. to ask questions and meet current members and faculty advisors. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!
