  9. The Next Step to the END OF POLIO is HERE! As outlined in the Polio Eradication and End Game Strategic Plan 2013-18, the second of the four primary objectives focuses on strengthening immunization systems and the gradual withdrawal of the oral polio vaccine.  To eliminate the risk of vaccine-derived poliovirus (VDPV), oral polio vaccines (OPV) will be phased out and inactivated polio vaccines (IPV) will be gradually introduced. Rotarians will play an important role in advocating with targeted governments to meet this important objective by encouraging them to introduce a minimum of one dose of IPV into their National Health systemsroutine immunization programs. The program will begin rolling out as early as mid-2014 and is to be completed by the end of 2015. Our Goal is Global Polio Eradication! The Gates Foundation is currently matching all Rotarian Raised Polio Donations $2 for each $1 Contributed (Up to $35Million/Year) Our Goal is Global Polio Eradication! 13,000,000+ Children Saved from the Paralysis of Polio Since 1988 Rotary International 2013 Taipei Rotary Institute
