IP Education • Nearly2 million students at 445 universities and higher schools (130 public) • past • Subject„Intellectual property” optionally introduced to curriculum – individual decision of particular university • present • Since academicyear 2008/2009 (according to theRegulation by theMinistry of Science and HigherEducation) universitiesobligatoryintroduce a subjectdevoted to intellectual property protectionintothe curricula of first degreestudies. • Number of IP lecturehours: • First degreestudies (BA) – 1 year - 4 hourintroductorytraining • 3 year - 15 hours (1 semester) • Seconddegreestudies (MA) – 15 hours (1 semestrer) tailored for specificfaculties • PhDstudies – 10 hours

IP Education • Under thepatronage • of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland • 2008 • Consortium of fouruniversitieshasbeenestablished • Goal: creation of postgraduatestudiesto trainlecturers of thesubject „Intellectual property protection” • 2009-2010 • Preparation of: • - program of postgraduatestudies (220 hours of training) • training materials • October 2010 • Start of thepostgraduatestudies for IP protectionlecturers
