  4. Differentiation of Germ Layers - endoderm - inside layer (digestive, respiratory) - mesoderm - middle layer (muscle, organs) - ectoderm - outer layer (nervous, skin)

  5. C) Formation of Body Cavity - fluid filled space between digestive tract and body wall - where organs have room to grow -coelom(see lum) - true body cavity is surrounded by mesoderm

  6. 1) Coelomate - has true coelum

  7. 2) Acoelomate - has no coelom (cavity)

  8. 3) Pseudo-coelomate - has partially lined body cavity

  9. Embryological Development (zygote > blastula)

  10. Blastula - hollow ball of cells, folds in on itself, creates tube (digestive tract)

  11. Protostomes - blastopore becomes mouth Deuterostomes - blastopore becomes anus

  12. Segmentation - found with bilateral symmetry - segments can become specialized

  13. F) Cephalization (head) - concentration of sense organs at one end (anterior)

  14. G) Limb Formation - legs, flippers, wings - associated with bilateral symmetry
