Team Rules & Regulations Be present at all workouts and meetings We will have district games and workouts during spring break � Players on the team must be here for these games and workouts Be on time � tardiness is not accepted Be prepared � be mentally and physically prepared for practice � dressed in school attire only. Be polite and positive Act appropriately in the classroom Be a good student

6. Lettering Policy 2010 The player shall be a member of the varsity baseball team. A player that is a member of the varsity baseball team the entire season will letter despite innings played and or number of opportunities to bat if: The player shall finish the varsity baseball season in good standing with the coach. In the event of a player that has not suited up for every game there are opportunities for a player to letter if: The player finishes the baseball season as a member of the varsity baseball team and the coach determines that the player has made a positive contribution to the varsity baseball team. Junior Varsity Players that are elevated to the varsity during the play-offs will not letter unless they log significant playing time during the play-off games. The determination as to whether a junior varsity player that is elevated to the varsity during the play-offs letters is at the discretion of the head baseball coach.

10. Expectations for Parent Behavior Never confront a coach before or after practice / game. Meetings of this nature usually do not promote positive resolutions. Call and set up a meeting. Procedure to set-up an meeting Call Coach Walden at 817.299-1215 Do not verbally abuse a coach during a game from the stands. Everybody is an expert from the stands. Keep all negative remarks to yourself. You are representing all of Legacy and MISD. Be first class. Do not verbally abuse an official. We teach our players to respect the officials and their decisions. Let�s model this for our athletes. To support the decisions made by the coaching staff in order to make this experience as positive for your child as possible. Be positive. Check website on a routine basis for updates to game and practice schedules

11. Not a Scholarship Factory We are here to build a solid high school baseball program established to promote athletic and academic achievement. New York times Article: NCAA scholarship average - $8,707; Baseball and Track $2,000 Tuition, room and books average cost is between $20,000, and $50,000 Best paying sport � Men�s Ice Hockey, $21,750 For soccer, 9.9 scholarships for 30 players to split at coaches discretion In 2003-2004, of 5.3 million athletes in high school, only 2% got some type of athletic scholarship I have a great relationship with many of the college coaches in Texas. These coaches know what talents and types of kids that they will be willing to offer scholarships to � When I call, most of these coaches are willing to listen and occasionally will come and see the player play. In baseball � scholarship opportunities are limited because baseball at the college level is a non-revenue producing sport. Help your son enjoy his opportunity at the high school level as much as possible.

13. Practice Routines / Times Varsity: 1:30 � 4:30 JV: 1:30 � 4:30 Freshmen: 3:00 � 5:00 These times are subject to change with weather conditions and use of the field

17. How Teams Will Be Selected Teams will be selected by the coaching staff. The coaches will make their decisions about who makes the team. We do not allow people outside of the Legacy Baseball Staff to have input. Our decisions will not be affected in any way by input from summer league coaches, parents, friends, etc� We will have 3 teams that will consist of the best 15 � 18 players Players will be personally informed by the coach about who made the team Players that do not make the team will be told as to why they didn�t make the team The Legacy Baseball Staff will make every effort to conduct a fair evaluation of every student that wants to play baseball There will be some good players that do not make one of the teams � This is a school team and the competition will be intense.
