China – types of food • Egg foo yung – basically a bean sprout omelette • Dim sum – bite sized food in individual portions in a steamer or basket • Bird nest soup – is a swiftlet birds nest served in a chicken broth • Dumplings – cooked balls of dough that might have meat or veggies in the center often served alone or in soup • Stir fry - rapid cooking in small amounts of oil over high heat • Rice – a staple in most meals

Vietnam – types of food • Cha ca – seasoned fish • Pho – noodle soup with cuts of meat and vegetables • Bahnxeo – crispy crepe with pork, shrimp and bean sprouts • Congee/chao – rice porridge • All dishes are communal and meant to be shared by the table • They eat EVERYTHING and don’t want anything to go to waste
