  10. Learning on ALISON – My Account • Click a link to get a list of course offerings. • Read About or Contact ALISON • Join a discussion forum. • Download a record of your courses. • View the number of certificates you’ve earned for course completions

  11. Learning on ALISON – Courses and Categories Click on Courses to get a list of course categories. If improving your IT skills is a priority, click on Digital Literacy and IT Skills.

  13. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (1) Click the link to “Manage a group of learners” on the course home page, in this case that of ALISON ABC IT.

  14. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (2) The Free ALISON Manager - Order Form page loads. Scroll down to enter your order details.

  15. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (3) A very short and simple form to complete.

  16. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (4) Click the “Course:” drop-down menu to select any ALISON course to create the Group for, in this case, ALISON ABC IT.

  17. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (5) Then create a Group Name, an enrolment key (or accept the auto-generated suggested key), choose the size for the Group, and finally, click NEXT.

  18. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (6) The Free ALISON Manager – Confirmation page loads, check the details are correct, and then click CONFIRM.

  19. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (7) The Thank You page loads confirming the Group has been created. Then scroll down to see your options from here.

  20. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (8) Click “Create another GROUP” if you wish to repeat the process, or “Go to ALISON Manager” to see your new Learning Group.

  21. ALISON Manager – Creating a Group (9) The ALISON Manager “Organizer” screen loads, with your new and any existing groups displayed on the page to the right.

  22. ALISON Manager – Inviting Learners (1) Use the panel provided under each of your groups to add the e-mail addresses of all those you’d like to invite to your group. Once you have added each address, click the “Invite” button to send the invitations.

  23. ALISON Manager – Inviting Learners (2) Confirmation of which e-mail addresses have been sent an invite is indicated on the page to the left.

  24. ALISON Manager – Inviting Learners (3) The e-mail sent by ALISON to each invitee contains a direct link to the course on ALISON containing the correct group and enrolment key information. It also contains a link to register with ALISON should the learner need to do so, as well as a clear record of the course, group name and enrolment key should that information be needed by the learner at another time.

ALISON Manager – Inviting Learners (4) Simply clicking on that link will bring the learner (if already registered with ALISON) to the Enrolment page for the course and the group, as well as populate the enrolment key field on the learner’s behalf. They then click the “Enrol in Group” button to proceed and start the course as part of your ALISON Manager Group!

  26. ALISON Manager – Inviting Learners (5) Once Group enrolment has taken place (or rejected in favour of independent study) the course module/lesson outline pages load, the learner chooses a topic, and the learning content is loaded within their Web browser.

  27. ALISON Manager – Functionality Immediately upon completion of any learner activity, the progress data is available to you within the various screens and functional areas of ALISON Manager.
