  1. Hernia and its Types A hernia occurs when an organ pushes through a weak opening inthe muscle or tissue. Depending upon the location of occurrence andthe cause, hernia is classified into various types. Some of which are:

  2. Inguinal Hernia • This type of hernia is the most common. They occur when the intestines push through a weak spot in the abdominal wall, in the inguinal canal. This results in a painful bulge in the groin area. • Men are more prone to this type of hernia than women. • Inguinal hernia though not dangerous, does not cure on its own. Immediate action in the form of a surgery is required to repair it.

  3. Diagnosis and treatment • A person should consult the best hernia doctor in Jaipurwhen they feel any kind of pain or bulging of any form. • The size and the severity of the hernia decides the course of treatment which include lifestyle changes, medication or surgery. • If the hernia is growing larger, then surgery is the best option to avoid further complications.

  4. Femoral Hernia • They occur as a painful lump in the inner upper part of the thigh. • When a portion of tissue push through the wall of the femoral canal due to overstaining, it results in a bulge. • Femoral hernia occur rarely and if they do, then in women more specially during child birth. • Femoral hernia should be treated before it becomes strangulated hernia obstructing and blocking the flow of blood.

  5. Umbilical Hernia • This occurs mostly in infants when they are born. • The umbilical chord which connects the mother and the foetus passes through a small opening in the abdomen of the infant. • After the birth, as the muscles become stronger, this hole closes automatically. However when this hole doesn’t close and the intestines bulge through the abdominal wall near the bellybutton, umbilical hernia occurs. • Umbilical hernia do not cause any trouble and they generally heal by themselves. • Treatment is required only when umbilical hernia doesn’t heal over a prolonged period of time.

  6. Incisional Hernia • Any surgery requires a lot of precision and carefulness. Recovery decides the success of any surgery. • However, when the scars made during the surgery do not heal completely, they result in incisional hernia • They occur when the intestines push through the incision scar after the surgery. • Therefore, one has to be really careful during the recovery process to avoid such further complications, like incisional hernia.
