    33. 3Com Confidential 33 Wireless Switch Manager Overview Floor plan integration Coverage and capacity planning Wireless planning tool Offline and online configuration One of the most compelling features about this software is the planning tools it gives the IT manager – of even a reseller if you want to sell site survey services. The software allows you to import a CAD drawing of a floor plan, allows the IT manager to enter information like number of users, and attenuation factors that aren’t noted in the drawing, then, it creates a customized deployment plan that shows the IT manager where to place access points. After that, it even creates a work order, so you know what equipment to purchase. Once your Access Points are deployed the switch manager software will manage the airspace and will automatically assign channels and adjust power levels to limit interference and provide superior coverage throughout the building. One of the most compelling features about this software is the planning tools it gives the IT manager – of even a reseller if you want to sell site survey services.
