  6. CollaborativeLearning

  7. Collaborative Learning Teachers • My students and I access learning spaces that extend the classroom and enable collaboration • Students: • I can use web 2.0 applications to communicate, collaborate and create with other students Add web 2.0 tools, applications and pages: • Blogs • Wikis • Discussion Forums • Polls • Video & Audio Conferencing • (R2) A place for student collaboration and learning

  8. Planning for this unit is captured in a Wiki to allow for collaboration across the team. An Image Gallery allows for the collation of images to be used throughout the unit A Reference Library allows for the collation of other resources and documents Note: This page would be hidden from students.

  9. The IFrame provides the Telstra Advertisement used for engagement to be revisited by students where/when required. A Blog provides a discussion point for students to make connections with the unit, commenting on their present thinking, experiences, understandings and concepts. A Wiki is used to allow students to edit in sub-pages and adding their learning goals for the unit. Members is added so everyone within this online community can see who are members.

  10. Sub-pages for each of the activities can be added. A Wiki is used to outline the learning activities and expectations for this unit. Students tick off their name once an activity is completed so progress can be monitored. A Slideshow of the unit images to reinforce student engagement and motivation. A Message Board to support substantive focused discussion on different topics and provides a record for these discussions.

  11. A Publication Display is used to present a Knowledge Hunt. Specific knowledge for the unit targeted and relevant links to digital content for students to gain this knowledge. A Blog poses the Inquiry Questions. Students can contribute their opinions and understandings and can return to it after reading comments of others and have the opportunity to re-form opinions and perspectives.

  12. A Wiki is used to allow for student collaboration and co-creation of new knowledge. Students are asked to record key findings and evidence from different sources, and use this collective information to form their own opinion.

  13. A page is added to the Wiki for the assessment rubric for this activity. This is for students to access this rubric throughout the completion of this activity and use it for self and peer-assessment before submitting their response.

  14. A Blog provides a place for learning reflection on the activity. An IFrame provides the digital learning activity – available to all. This can be maximised so students have a full screen to complete the activity.
