The Witching HourBy: Sadie Sophie, a little girl, couldn’t sleep. She looked out her window and saw something big and tall.
Who?By: Sadie The thing Sophie saw took out a a thing and blew stuff into the Goochey children’s bedroom window. ? ? ?
The Snatch By: Sadie The giant person that Sophie saw out her window snatches Sophie out of her bed and takes her away. Sophie is terrified because she thinks he’ll eat her for his breakfast!
The CaveBy: Sadie Sophie sees a big mountain. A cave is hidden in the side of the mountain. The giant goes inside of it.
The BFGBy: Sadie The giant person is really the Big Friendly Giant! Sophie is very relived because he won’t eat her for breakfast.
The GiantsBy: Sadie The BFG does not want Sophie to tell the other ‘human beans’ about him. That is why he snatched her out of bed. The BFG shows Sophie the other giants.
The Marvelous Ears the BFG was giving the Goochey children a good dream when Sophie looked out her window and saw him. The BFG can hear a lot of different things that nobody else can hear.
Literary LuminaryBy Dakota Thomas DREAMS “How do you catch them?” Sophie asked “The same way you catch butterflies.” The BFG answered “With nets?” page 47 I copied this because it gave me an idea that dreams are thick, gelatin like, and solid.
Literary LuminaryBy: Sadie “There it lay, this small oblong sea-green jellyish thing, at the bottom of the jar, quite peaceful, but pulsing gently, the whole of it moving in and out ever so slightly, as though it was alive.” I like this piece of writing because it is very descriptive and you can see it in the bottom of that little jar.

The Great Plan The great plan is about Sophie trying to get the BFG to help her maker the Queen of England to stop the giants from eating all the children. So Sophie made the BFG to make a dream where the giants are eating the boys and girls. Then when the Queen wakes up she’ll see Sophie on the window sill then the BFG will popup and then the Queen will think the giants are real. So then she’ll have the soldiers will stop them and put the giants in jail.
The QueenBy: Sadie Sophie meets the queen of England who had a nightmare about the other man-eating giants (The Fleshlumpeater, The Bonecruncher, The Manhugger, The Childchewer, The Meatdripper, The Gizzardgulper, The Maidmasher, The Bloodbottler, and The Butcher Boy). The Queen also meets the BFG.
The Royal BreakfastBy: Sadie Sophie and the BFG have breakfast with the Queen. The Queen calls the Sutton of ‘Bag Dad,’ as one of the giants called Baghdad, and also the King of Sweden because the giants were there eating humans. Then the Queen calls the Head of the Army and the Air Force.
The PlanBy: Sadie the BFG, Sophie, the Queen, the Head of the Head of the Army, and the Head of the Air Force devise a plan. After they have made it they carry it out.
Feeding TimeBy: Sadie Everyone (the BFG, Sophie, the Queen, the Head of Army, the Head of Air Force, and all the people in the helicopters) put the man-eating giants in a huge hole and feed them snozzcumbers (like a foul tasting cucumber that the BFG had to eat).
The AuthorBy: Sadie There is gratitude all over the world, the BFG gets an elephant, Sophie and the BFG get a house, and the BFG writes a book.
QuestionsBy: Sadie What do you think ‘figglers’ are? Fingers. Why do you think the BFG doesn’t want to let the ‘Grobswitcher’ dream go? He doesn’t want a little ‘human beany toddle’ have a bad dream.
QuestionsBy: Sadie Before reading about them, what did you think a ‘snozzcumber’ was? I thought that they were like cucumbers because it ended in ‘cumber.’ Where do you think there is descriptive language? When the ‘Bloodbottler’ was explained. Do you think that Sophie was ‘twiddling’ the BFG’s leg when she told him she loved the way he spoke? No I don’t. Why do you think the BFG is worried about Sophie? Because he likes her.
