  1. Daycare & Back To School Essentials

  2. It's almost that time of year again: getting the kids ready to go back to school or daycare. It's only July, but you know how time flies during the summer. Before you know it, it will be a week before school starts and you'll be running around like a headless chicken trying to get things organized. So, instead of putting yourself through the stress, why not prepare in advance by buying your daycare and back to school essentials early. Being organized helps you budget your money effectively and relieves stress. Here are some essentials you can consider that may allow you to avoid the back to school rush in the final weeks of August:

  3. LUNCH BOXES When you think about your kid's lunch, the container you put the food in is just as important as the food itself. We've heard all about the horrors of chemical compounds like BPA and melamine which can be found in some plastics. Luckily, there are some environmentally friendly alternatives. Dalcini stainless steel containers are safe and fun, too. You can label their containers with chalk markers: great for if you have more than one child. There'll be no getting the lunches mixed up when you write their names on the boxes. Not only this, but stainless steel is an excellent material for many reasons. It's eco-friendly, strong, durable, unbreakable, and resistant to scratches and dents. What more could you want for your child's lunchbox?

  4. DRINK BOTTLES Another eco-friendly alternative to help you start the school year with a bang is a stainless steel drink bottle. Get with the times and ditch the plastic cups that can leach into the fluid your child drinks. These fantastic bottles boast triple insulated vacuum technology. This means that the fluid will stay nice and cool for hours throughout the school day. They're also perfect for wintertime if you like to send your child to school with a warm drink such as cocoa or tea. The same bottle that keeps juice cool will keep warm drinks nice and hot so your child can stay warm during the winter months.  If you want to get specific, hot drinks will stay hot for eight hours and cold drinks for thirty-six hours. There's no need to worry about your child's drink when you supply them with a bottle of this magnitude.

  5. CLOTH STORAGE BAGS Oh my goodness, these cloth storage bags are adorable. They come in a range of patterns and they're designed in such a way that you can actually store food in them! Now just imagine sending your kid to school with sliced fruit or vegetables in this little item. They can even hold one cup if you'd prefer, and at only eight dollars they're a bargain too!

  6. SUNSCREEN Some kids hate sunscreen and sunblock, but it's a necessity. When you're selecting a sunscreen, make sure it's easy to apply and will stay on for a long time. This is because sometimes there's nothing more difficult than getting your child to sit still while you apply it, so you want it to be as easy a job as possible! There are a number of eco-friendly sunscreens on the market, and lots of them are innovative in terms of how you apply them. For example, you can get stick sunscreen, thick sunscreens that you can have fun with by applying it like body paint and more traditional creamy versions which still make the most of using natural ingredients and being kind to the environment.

  7. SEASONAL WEAR It might be nice and warm now, but the changing seasons mean that you constantly have to update your child's wardrobe. Hats, mitts, neckwarmers, rain gear, and shoes that are suitable for both indoor and indoor playing are just some of the items that should be on your seasonal wear list. When you're choosing these clothing items, always make sure to invest in quality materials that are made of natural or safe synthetic materials. There are many options that are reasonably priced, durable, and eco-friendly.
