  2. Nick Andreou, P.Eng.Digital Engineering Manager Nick Andreou has been in the automotive scene since the 1980’s. He has designed and operated production systems. Nick has developed GM vehicles from the ground up, but his particular flare comes in engaging computing systems to improve capabilities of engineering and business processes. Whether in Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering or IS&S, Nick has been a Visionary in the digital revolution that harnesses the great power of Math. In the area of the Virtual Factory, Nick created a Manufacturing Math Modeling group, in an organization, where there was nothing like it. The beauty of going digital is that it is faster, cheaper and higher quality, then physical development, so that it actually funds itself. Nick is quoted as saying: “give me an Analog budget, and I can perform digital work, fund the creation of a digital revolution, and still give money back at the end of the year.” Nick lead his teams to four, Chairman’s Honors Awards, involving various Engineering / IT projects that all enhanced core Engineering functionality using IT implementations. GM sought to amplify Nick’s local success into GM’s Global Engineering Community, and asked Nick to lead GM’s global collaboration initiatives. This foyer into IT projects launched the latest chapter of Nick’s career, that of IT Program Management, in GM and at Siemens PLM. With a passion to deliver functional, value added systems, that leap past the legacy systems they replace, Nick has implemented numerous IT projects over the past 10 years. Systems in excess of $130M, projects staffed with 72 people, and in areas as diverse as Virtual Product Builds, Eng./Mfg. IT projects, total upgrade of Ford’s Eng./Mfg Suite of PLM Software, Interactive Distance Learning, Satellite Broadcasting and Healthcare. Nick has lead project teams as the Customer on some projects, and as the Systems Integrator Service Provider on other large Fixed Bid Contracts. Throughout these various assignments, a dominant characteristic has surfaced: Customer Satisfaction. Perhaps with the Systems engineering training, perhaps with the release engineering experience or R&D, Nick has developed a reputation for seeking out the real customer requirements and finding optimal solutions that achieve desirable and profitable solutions.
