  3. Planning Team who should be a part of the team and planning process? • Planning Team • Special Education Teacher • Regular Education Teacher – one/building • Administrator • Technology Coordinator • Board Member • Superintendant

  4. Process Description what are the steps in developing a technology use plan? • Step 1 • Discuss current technology • Step 2 • Present new technologies • Step 3 • Meet with staff/administrators • Step 4 • Purchase technology • Step 5 • Provide training • Step 6 • Evaluate Plan

  5. Vision Statement Provide a sample vision statement. • The Vision for our district is to prepare students for a rapidly changing world. Technology is essential for our students to use everyday in order to prepare themselves for the future. Technology promotes active participation with students. Technology-based instruction in the classroom helps engage students and encourage learning. Each student will have access to technology at any given time. Each member of our staff will utilize technology to enhance the curriculum.

Plan Goals/Objectives Provide a sample goals and objectives • Develop technological curriculum • Curriculum based on standards • Lessons include technology standards • Provide technology based training • Provide proper equipment • Develop evaluation strategies • Decide on budget • Create a timeline

  7. Needs Assessment What needs should be addressed in the assessment instrument? • Student use • Faculty use • Improving Curriculum

  8. Faculty/staff Development Provide some suggestions for faculty/staff development as this will be a crucial element in the plan. • Professional Development • Presentations of learned material • Common planning time • Time to evaluate

  9. Evaluation/Research Suggest how you would evaluate the plan. How will that be structured? Will there be a research component? • Planning team will meet • Teachers present evaluations • Collect data • Research

  10. Timeline Provide a timeline for the development and implementation of the plan. • 1 year starting in June • Phase 1: June to August • Phase 2: June to March • Phase 3: March to November • Phase 4: November to August
